Edwards-Rigdon takes pride in its perfect Safety record. Since opening its doors in 1995, Edwards-Rigdon's employees have incurred no recordable or lost-time injuries. The company's Experience Modification Rate is currently at .80, its lowest ever.
Edwards-Rigdon maintains a comprehensive written Safety Program, clearly identifying hazards, risks and standards. Clients may request a copy at any time during their project.
Edwards-Rigdon Superintendents maintain a current copy of the Company Safety Program as well as Trade Contractors' MSDS sheets in their jobsite offices throughout construction. Fire extinguishers, barricades and other protective systems are readily available and used according to OSHA Standards.
All Edwards-Rigdon projects have built-in Safety budgets for use by the Superintendets in acquiring additional Safety necessities. All personnel carry hard-hats and are required to wear them whenever overhead construction is taking place, or other possible hazards to the head exist. Visitor hard-hats are always available in the jobsite offices.
As of December 9, 2005, all Superintendents have been certified in CPR, First Aid and AED use. Currently, the Safety Director is Tom Edwards Jr. who carries a Certificate of Completion for 8 hours of Trench and Excavation Safety; has completed the OSHA 30-Hour course for construction; and has completed the OSHA 500 "Trainer" course, authorizing him to conduct the 10- and 30-Hour courses.
Edwards-Rigdon believes that Safety is the most important aspect of a project, because without healthy and able workers, nothing could be built. The last thing any client or contractor wants is for an injury or death to occur on their property or jobsite due to unsafe practices, and as such, Edwards-Rigdon does everything in its power to prevent accidents from happening.
